i have been using cocaine on a daily basis for the last 15 years. The only time off has been a day off here and there but never no more than two weeks, and those times have been few and far between. I recently stop using cocaine (powder cocaine crumbled in cigarettes). Eleven days and I have noticed weight gain, depression and a slight increase in my blood pressure. i am also doing a 14 day detox. Do you have any thoughts/tips for sucess going forward.
Hi Michelle thanks for your questions.
My first thought is where are you doing the 14 day detox? I have found that with cocaine addiction it is very important to keep busy. First I would recommend reading recovery literature NA basic text is great if your an addict I am sure you will be able to relate with a lot of the stories in it.
I would also try to get interest in a hobby you may have always wanted to try but never actually got around to it. If nothing else work a puzzle I have done that myself to keep my mind occupied.
Next thing I would suggest that you do some kind of exercise every day you can start out lite. When I first stopped using I would go for a long walk some days I had to force myself because of being depressed but I found that before my walk was half way finished I was feeling better and my depression had lifted.
You say you are gaining weight so be sure to eat proper meals and take vitamins and plenty of fluids including water. I can not tell you how important all of this is. I hope it helps. Contact me when every you feel like it and let me know how your doing.
Good luck and God bless
