How to Get Inexpensive Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation

Many people who suffer from substance addiction wonder how you can afford an expensive drug rehab. Many drug rehabilitation facilities cost thousands of dollars for a simple 30-day program. The thought of such an expense leaves little hope for people who are currently struggling with addiction. Fortunately, there are ways to get around the financial barrier and get the help that one needs. There is plenty of hope for a person to get into a drug rehab or an alcohol treatment center without spending thousands of dollars.

One way a person can receive help for addiction is through state funded programs. There are some programs available by income. That means if a person is unemployed or he or she is on some type of public assistance, the cost will be minimal if anything. An individual looking for help can seek guidance by calling a referral company.

Certain employers will also put their employees through rehabilitation if the employee comes to them and asks for help. Under those circumstances, some employers must offer the employee assistance before that person can be terminated. Employer funded health insurance is another place a person can look for assistance. Most employee health plans cover the expense of drug rehabilitation or mental health care.

I know from first hand experience that many addicts and alcoholics simply can not afford to go to any type of substance abuse treatment. A lot of addicts have spent their entire life savings; furthermore, they have mortgaged their homes, possessions, and some have sold their bodies pursuing drugs. Now the question is what can these people do to find help?

How to find assistance from a state or government funded drug rehab

If you happen to be one of the unfortunate individuals that can not afford rehab then I would suggest that start doing the footwork that  you to for assistance from a state or government funded drug rehab. Sometimes you can find them which are absolutely free. These types of rehabs are not advertised the only way to find one is to actually do the footwork which will involve a whole lot of phone calls to various rehabs. So if you really want to recover from drug and alcohol addiction get busy and start looking.

How to find a drug rehab for women

Another good place for women to look for a drug rehab or addiction help would be the YWCA sometimes they have specially designated units for women who need help with addiction and other things as well so if you are a female that wants to quit using drugs contact them right away, if they can not help you be sure to ask if they can refer you to someone who can.

Attending NA or AA meetings to help you stay sober

I would suggest that in the meantime while looking for a rehab that you make plans to attend an NA or AA meeting daily and start looking for a sponsor that can help guide you through the steps. I would recommend that you look for one with several years clean and sober with a solid recovery foundation; furthermore, one that you can relate to does not hurt either.

I would also get involved with the other recovering addicts at the meetings get their phone numbers and go out for coffee with them. The friends that you make at the meetings will be there to help you through thick and thin.

Good luck
