Going to Drug Rehab IS No Joke

Most anyone who goes to drug rehab has to understand that they are in for a bit of a ride.  You have to sort of throw up your hands and surrender and if you can just let go and stop fighting for control of everything then you just might be alright.  In fact, you might even learn something if you follow through with what they tell you to do in rehab.

If you can’t find a rehab then you might want to go through a US drug rehab list.  If you already have local treatment centers or rehabs that are nearby then you should call them up and talk with them.

There are also numerous State and Government funded drug rehabs out there if you take the time to look. I mean how much is your recovery and getting your life back worth to you? If you were anything like the dope fiend that I was what ever time you spend in looking for a rehab will be a drop in the bucket compared to the time I spent finding the means and ways to get another pill, sack, or shot of dope.

This is the starting point for recovery and if you talk with these people they can tell you what you need to do in order to get into treatment.  Sometimes you have to jump through some hoops but let’s be honest here–you jumped through quite a few hoops in order to get your drugs, didn’t you?  And so it must be with rehab in some cases….be prepared to go the extra mile and you will have the chance to change your life around.  The commitment required to really excel in treatment goes far beyond merely learning how to break a habit or talk yourself out of bad decisions.  These are big changes that are going to take a lot of time and energy and effort on your part in order to really make progress with them.

Now if you do manage to get yourself into rehab then I would suggest that you take it as seriously as possible.  Rehab is not cheap as you probably are finding out and if there is one thing you do not want to do it is to get out of treatment and end up relapsing right away.  So take rehab seriously and do what you need to do in order to get well.

If you are going to rehab to overcome an opiate addiction there are many good opiate rehabs out there. I would suggest that you try to find one as close to home as possible. Opiate addiction rehabs are well equipped and staffed properly. Mos can perform a medical opiate detox. This is done by using prescription medications to help ease the pain of opiate withdrawal. If you go and once you are admitted a staff member will take you to the detox area where you will be given a bed I can not say whether you will have your own room. Now at this time the clinician will also administer medication to help make you more comfortable during your withdrawal from opiates.

This type of detox normally will take around 5 days or so but I recommend that immediately  after that you go to residential treatment where you will learn some new addiction recovery tools to help you to stay clean and sober when you get out so do not be clowning around with the opposite  sex while in rehab you will be real sorry if you get in a relationship in rehab anyway cause you are both going to relapse mark my words you heard it here first.

Good luck
