This prescription medication is a narcotic prescribed by doctors to manage pain. It is prescribed in pill form and will dissolve slowly to increase the pain relieving effects over time. If you have a teenager that is Snorting vicodin keep in mind that it raises the risk of:

· addiction

· increases the danger of overdose or death

· is illegal when ingested in this manner

· get your teen or loved one that is abusing this drug help right away

One reason why snorting it increases the chance of addiction is because the nasal passages absorb high amounts at one time causing a euphoric state that enhances a desire for more. As well as promoting addition, abusing hydrocodone in this manner can damage the nasal tissue and can cause vomiting, labored breathing, and even death.

Hydrocodone is a dangerous narcotic and a regulated medication; therefore, altering it to a powder from its prescribed pill form is illegal. It is also illegal to ingest this medication in any manner or dose other than what is directed on the bottle.

Many prescription medications are being used as street drugs to get high; furthermore, using this medication in this fashion is a definite sign that illegal use or addition is occurring. If you or a loved one is abusing prescription drugs, seek help from a professional as soon as possible.

If you are interested in going to drug rehab for an addiction to hydrocodone then you should make the decision right now to check into rehab and follow through with the program that they offer. It does not matter much what type of treatment they offer or what their philosophy of recovery is or what type of counselors or therapists they have working there.

Two extreme settings. One extreme is an absolute dump, the other is lavish and luxurious. Yet they both produce the same average rates of success for recovering alcoholics.

So what does this mean for you? Well, it means 2 things:

1) Don’t obsess over choosing a treatment center. If one will work, any of them will work. There is no magic out there. They all have the same basic tools for recovery. Pick one and go with it.

2) If you’re not ready, you’re not ready. No rehab setting can make you ready. You have to surrender before you get there. It is only then that you can start a new life.

If by chance you have been beaten down enough and are ready to get some help with your drinking problem then If you want to learn how to beat alcohol addiction I would suggest that you look into going to some type of alcoholic rehab. There they will be able to help you to stop alcohol abuse.

If you are a heavy drinker and have been at it for a long time you will defiantly want to go to alcohol treatment because in case you do not know it alcohol withdrawal can actually kill you. Surprisingly it is by far more dangerous than heroin withdrawal which is not life threatening.

If you are looking for one try to find one near you so friends and family can come support you in your alcoholic recovery. I would also try to find one that can medically detox you from alcohol. This will make the process a lot more tolerable because the withdrawal from alcohol can be quite nasty without the proper medication.

Good luck

Many patients that use xanax or those who are considering the use of this prescription medication are in fact wondering is xanax addictive. This question should have been asked at the time that the individual was prescribed this medication or at the very least if would have could have read this information in the pamphlet that was included when you picked up your prescription at the pharmacy. That is if you were indeed provided one.

Xanax, a depressant generally prescribed for disorders such as anxiety, is a Schedule IV Controlled Substance, which could indicate a low potential for dependence as well as an acceptable use for medical purposes. The answer to that is yes, it can be.

The dependence variable lies with the individual. It isn’t specifically known what causes addictive behavior in regards to Xanax, however it can occur in a low percentage of the population. Some studies indicate issues such as alcoholism contributing Xanax dependency.

This could be from the individual’s alcohol abuse or even from a genetic link. Another study indicated children of alcoholics showed a greater euphoria than those of parents who did not suffer from alcoholism. The best ways to prevent addiction is to follow the guidelines set by your doctor and refer any issues to them immediately.

How to get trough xanax or alprazolam withdrawal

If you need help with xanax addiction then you might go to
drug treatment. Any addict or alcoholic who is looking to change their life should consider going to rehab, even though the cost can be prohibitively high in some cases.

The reason I say this is that you can be medically detoxed and not have to suffer all that much from xanax withdrawal. The payoff for a life of sobriety is huge though and is ultimately worth any price that you pay for rehab.

It would be nice if you could just send any addict or alcoholic off to rehab and have them come back as a new person who never drank or used alprazolam or any other drugs again. Treatment does not usually work like this though and most people have to go to treatment a couple of times before they “get it.”

· Success rates for alprazolam addiction

Why the sense of urgency? Because otherwise you will not go. It becomes so much easier to put things off and to stay stuck in active addiction, rather than to take decisive action and make a big change like this. It takes guts to go to rehab and change your whole life. If you have the impulse to do it all of a sudden then you should seize the opportunity and go make the best of it. Almost no one ever regrets going to rehab, but plenty of people regret not going.

Which rehab should you go to? It doesn’t really matter. People cannot believe that because they intuitively know that there is a wide range of quality out there with almost every choice. For example, we have all been to good restaurants as well as bad restaurants. Shouldn’t it be the same for treatment centers? Aren’t there good ones and bad ones out there? Wouldn’t some rehab facilities produce good success rates of recovery, while other, poorer facilities produce lousy success rates?

The truth is that no one has figured it out yet, and they all produce the same basic rate of success among recovering addicts and alcoholics. There are luxury treatment centers out there in which each resident has their own personal chef, and there are some treatment centers that are so run down and poor that they will have you cooking lunch while you are still in detox (slight exaggeration there, but you get the idea). But the amazing thing is that both of these rehab centers will produce about the same number of addicts an alcoholics that stay clean and sober.

This should point to a fundamental truth about recovery: it is up to the individual, and the fate of their sobriety rests squarely on their own shoulders. It does not matter much which rehab center they attend, or even what the core philosophy of that treatment center is. Almost all rehabs are abstinence based programs and that is good enough for most anyone who is truly willing to change. If they are not ready, then no rehab is going to be able to help them.

Good luck

By learning the basic facts about a measured blood alcohol concentration (BAC), you can discover how to solve alcohol related problems for yourself and overcome alcohol addictoin. Having learned those facts, you need to become familiar with the various factors that affect that BAC.

By controlling such factors a heavy drinker can dampen the extent of his or her response to any consumption of an alcoholic beverage.
Pay close attention to how much you drink and how quickly you down any glass or bottle full of either beer or a stronger liquor.

The act of chugging many drinks invites a rapid increase in your BAC. Of course, it also contributes to the effects caused by a number of other factors.

Solving the problem of alcohol abuse; for example, the ingredient list on a bottle that contains an alcoholic beverage should not be overlooked by anyone who suffers from drinking problems and is serious about learning how to overcome an addiction to alcohol.

A strong drink hits the system harder than a milder one. Straight shots manage to get alcohol into the system faster. Therefore, their effects can be felt more rapidly.

Any job that you have will probably be lost eventually too. Addiction always gets worse over time, never better. Any true drug addict will confirm this with you and they will also explain that if you relapse and start using drugs again after stopping that it gets much worse then too.

The only hope for a better life is to stop the addictive cycle and get clean and sober. Going to drug treatment is a great way to get started on that path.

When you go to treatment they will probably introduce you to the 12 step program. This is what most treatment centers are based on and it is the current solution for most of the industry. The success rate is not great with the 12 step program but it is basically all we have right now and it is set up and it is widespread and it is essentially free.

You should take advantage of this fact after leaving drug treatment and go to some meetings on a regular basis. Now my recommendation is not to become dependent on these meetings in order to stay clean and sober because if you do then you are not achieving the quality of sobriety that you could otherwise achieve.

What I mean by this is that your real motivation for recovery needs to come from a boost to your own self esteem and the push for personal growth, not from a reliance on social networking in the 12 step fellowships. There is a big difference there and many people will relapse after finding themselves dependent on their social connections in recovery to help keep them sober.

We are all going to be faced with the choice in the future to use a drink or a drug again. The choice will come up whether we want it to or not. And we will even find ourselves with a private moment one day when we could use our drug of choice and no one would know about it except for us.

Now if you are relying on the social mechanism of the 12 step fellowship to keep you sober then you will be especially vulnerable during moments like those. Therefore you should focus instead on personal growth and boosting your own self esteem.

Dilaudid is a depressant psychoactive drug that is commonly prescribed for management of moderate to severe pain if abruptly stopped after long term use the person will experience dilaudid withdrawal. However, the drug is abused (taken in extreme quantities) by people who wish to experience its effects of: slowed body processes, loss of sleep and appetite as well as drunkenness.

Prolonged intake of this drug forms habit fast- increases tolerance and develops dilaudid addiction-; which is characterized by withdrawal symptoms if intake is reduced or stopped.

Withdrawal from Dilaudid

The Withdrawal is the process through which the drug user/ abuser is assisted to gradually quit the drug. This is done through reducing, and finally stopping intake of Dilaudid and treating the withdrawal symptoms with another drug.

It is highly recommended stop using this medication gradually to avoid the onset of violent withdrawal symptoms such as: splitting headaches, cardiac arrests, stopped breathing etc. It is also very important for this process be done under supervision of a detox doctor who can monitor and treat the withdrawals as on time and adequately.

If you intended to quit using dilaudid go see your prescribing physician they can give you advise on how to taper off of dilaudid.

Can Holistic Drug Rehab Improve Your Chances Of Overcoming Drug And Alcohol Addiction?

One of the current debates in addiction recovery is the question “Can an holistic drug rehab improve your chances of overcoming drug and alcohol addiction?” The more mainstream rehabilitation specialists think not, while practitioners of holistic medicine insist it can. Though this approach would not benefit everyone, it is a viable and valuable opportunity for some.

Holistic treatment practices focus on the natural rhythm of life and the body in treatment instead of man-made medications. This means, in a rehabilitation setting, that the treatment consists mainly of balanced nutrition and spiritual settings to aid in the recovery process.

Holistic drug rehab can help you beat drug addiction

For instance, a holistic facility will commonly be less clinical, making the addict feel more at peace and more able to deal with the underlying causes of their addiction. Since each person is treated on an individual basis, with the understanding that, while causes may be common, people are not, this can be a perfect place for anyone who feels they could use spirituality based program.

Holistic treatment to overcome alcohol addiction

For advocates of traditional treatment for like drug or alcohol addiction, these ideas are anathema. Rehabilitation facilities have long been almost prison-like. Life inside them is highly structured and constantly overseen. For anyone who wants the added consequences for slipping, this is an ideal setting for them to recover in.

Surprisingly, both approaches have much in common. Both strive to treat the underlying causes of addiction, as well as attempting to create self-esteem and coping mechanisms for the addicts. Both are attempting to create healthier, more capable people who are free from their addictive behaviors. Though their approaches are different from each other, the aims are the same.

Ultimately, whether holistic addiction recovery is right for you or not, is a question only you can answer. As long as you know which environment you will be more able to heal in, you can make the right choice. In cases where traditional rehabilitation has failed, holistic drug rehab may vastly improve the chance of long-time sobriety.

If you are one of the unfortunate addicts who have repeatedly went to conventional drug rehab only to get out and relapse time after time then maybe it is time for you to take a new approach. With this being said perhaps you would like to give holistic rehab a go.

Holistic Home Detox

If for some reason this does not work out well for you keep in mind there are still plenty of options like a holistic home detox as well as drug rehabs that you can try. It is important to never give up we must keep trying no matter how many times we relapse. I can not tell you the number of times that I had to come back after a relapse and share that

I did it again and thank God I learned that I do not have to use again no matter what and neither do you.

Good luck

Post acute withdrawal syndrome is a set of impairments that begin to develop immediately after an alcoholic or addict has detoxed from alcohol or drugs. The symptoms may be short lived or light or they can be long lasting and debilitating.

People who are addicts go through detox after they have gotten of the drug or alcohol that they are taking. During this time they may feel symptoms of getting off of their addiction. This usually lasts for less than 10 days. After 10 day, the acute withdrawal sets in.

The syndrome may develop in a person because the brain has been weakened by long term substance abuse. It cannot react to stress very well. Situations that are stressful that arise early in recovery and the symptoms of the syndrome produce further distress. Those who are getting off of their substances should avoid or deal with the triggers that may make the syndrome worse.

The symptoms of the syndrome are different for each individual. In varying degrees they may have trouble in these areas: though processes, memory, emotional stability, fine and gross motor skills, sleep issues, and stress coping. People may have the inability to concentrate, experience mood swings, disorganized thought patterns, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, exhaustion, drug or alcohol cravings, memory troubles, and a lack of emotional response.

As for treatment, the condition will improve over a period of time. This time can range from six months to many years in severe cases. The drugs carbamazepine or trazodone may help in the treatment of the syndrome. Also, acamprosate may help alleviate some of the symptoms of the syndrome that is associated with alcohol withdrawal.

So if you are going to detox from the substances you are taking, make sure have help and that do all you can so that the syndrome doesn’t occur after detox.

Making it through oxycodone withdrawal

If you or a loved one are trying to figure out how to overcome oxycodone withdrawal then you need look no farther because I will share with you my hope, strength, and experience of how to beat oxycodone and make it though withdrawal.

Ok let take a look at our options. The first thing that I would recommend is that you could more then likely benefit immensely from going to a drug rehab. That is if you are serious about quitting oxycodone. If you are then I am pretty sure that you know how tough it is to go through this type of withdrawal and if you do not then you will have to take my word for it. The reason for this is that if have no medication when you detox from oxycodone you are going to be flat out miserable.

If you happen to be among the unfortunate that can not afford to go to opiate addiction rehab I will give you some tips on how to get through opiate withdrawal and addiction at home.

How to beat opiate withdrawal at home

It is not that complicated to get through a withdrawal from opiates. First thing I would suggest is to force yourself to stay awake as long as you can before you intend to stop using opiates preferably a couple of days. My hope here is that it will help you to sleep through the most serious parts of your withdrawal.

After this I would invite someone who you are very close to that you would like to stay with you while you detox from opiates. Then you will want to get some over the counter medications to help make you more comfortable. This should include Motrin for leg cramps, Benadryl in case you are still unable to sleep and lastly some Imodium for diarrhea.

<!--

Keep in mind that this is basically a set of impairments that begin to develop immediately after an alcoholic or addict has detoxed from alcohol or drugs. The symptoms may be short lived or light or they can be long lasting and debilitating.

Getting through post acute opiate withdrawal without relapsing

People who are addicts go through detox after they have gotten of the drug or alcohol that they are taking. During this time they may feel symptoms of getting off of their addiction. This usually lasts for less than 10 days. After 10 day, the post acute opiate withdrawal syndrome sets in and can last up to 2 yrs.

Making it through opioid withdrawal without relapsing on other opiate drugs

Well you may be wondering what to expect from a drug treatment center if you have never been. The first thing will happen is you will meet with the Dr. and they will make sure you are fit enough to make it through and oxycodone detox. Then you will be taken by a trained medical staff member to the detox area. They will be there to help you 24/7 to see to your needs as well as administer prescription medications to help make you as comfortable as possible during your withdrawal.

How to beat oxycodone withdrawal

I have to suggest that upon a successful completion checking into oxycodone addiction detox that you continue your recovery in residential treatment. There you will be required to attend 12 step meetings, group, lectures, watch recovery videos and attend one on one addiction therapy. Keep in mind that those who do not do this are going to relapse and that’s just the way it is. I mean try it if you want and the next time you come through rehab maybe you will heed the word and go to residential treatment.

Now before you leave rehab meet with your therapist and discuss an aftercare drug addiction recovery plan. This may include NA meetings or on going substance abuse counseling. The choice is yours but once again without a plan you will relapse. Now you have all the information of how to stay clean and beat oxycodone so all that is left is for you to take action and make it happen.

Good luck
