Do you have a loved one who can’t Stop Smoking Weed and needs Cannabis Addiction Treatment

Cannabis addiction treatment is marijuana really addictive? The answer, actually, is yes. With persistent use, cannabis is potentially a psychologically addictive drug. While there is no evidence to support a physical addiction, and psychological addiction is easy to discount, any form of addiction is serious.

Addiction means a loss of freedom, a loss of personal choice. Addiction dictates how you structure your day, your life. You are no longer free to choose, the addiction does that for you.

Now I know for sure that many people that smoke weed are also selling marijuana. Even if its just a small amount if you get busted for selling pot you could go to jail. Selling weed is dam near as addicting as any drug. Its has its own source of excitement especially if you are selling some weight; for example, trying to stay one step ahead of the law. Then there is the copping of the dope and getting it back home or to the warehouse safely there is no doubt in my mind that this too is an addiction.

Cannabis (marijuana) activates reward centers in the brain. Regular users report feeling “down” or depressed when they do not use the drug. A certain percentage of people who smoke Marijuana end up becoming very heavy users, feeling they need the drug to function at a normal level.

Cannabis Addiction Treatment has helped many people stop smoking marijuana

Many people ask is marijuana really addictive

The first step in treating any addiction is recognition of the problem, and a willingness to change. Once an individual makes a decision to overcome the addiction and stop smoking weed, they must take steps to treat the dependency.

How to overcome cannabis dependency

Suggested treatments for cannabis dependency include marijuana detoxification or a holistic detox cleanse, and management of  marijuana withdrawal symptoms. Recommended drug counseling may include psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and participation in a drug abuse support group, and or group therapy.

Lifestyle changes are essential to success, which include avoiding all situations associated with drug use, especially association with friends and acquaintances who continue to use the drug. Other lifestyle changes will include maintaining a healthy diet, and exercise.

Medication to treat associated psychiatric disorders, such as anxiety and depression, may be prescribed, on a short term basis. Medications may include anxiolytics such as benzodiazepines. Antidepressants such as SSRI’s for associated mood disorders may also be beneficial.

Overcoming cannabis addiction is possible, with treatment, and a willingness to make a change.

If you think you may be addicted to marijuana you may want to try something different there are meetings but I would suggest trying drug addiction therapy. It worked for me and a lot of other addicts it can work for you too if you give it a try. The thing is you will have to find something to occupy your time. You should plan on doubling the time you spent using with something new.

Good luck
